Sluneční lázně Receives the Expert Jury Award

Sluneční lázně received the Expert Jury Award at the 17th edition of the international travelling exhibition Má vlast cestami proměn / Moja vlasť, kultúrne premeny (My Homeland Through Transformations). The award was presented to ten restoration projects from the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The official award ceremony took place at the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

The award recognises the restoration of the protected historic complex originally known as the Jurkovič Hydrotherapy Institute and the River and Sun Baths, today known as Sluneční lázně. Following years of deterioration, the complex underwent extensive renovation between 2021 and 2024. The project preserved the architecturally valuable buildings and brought social life back to the site.

The award acknowledges the efforts of everyone involved in restoring the complex and the care taken to preserve its historical significance. We are delighted that Sluneční lázně has once again become a vibrant place for culture, community and learning.

About the award: The Má vlast cestami proměn exhibition showcases successful restorations of buildings and public spaces, highlighting their transformation through before-and-after comparisons. Established in 2009, the project aims to share inspiring examples of environmental stewardship and cultural heritage preservation.
